About Us:
Welcome to Joe-Kerr Rabbitry, owned by Richard D'Ambrogio. We are located in Hopewell Junction, New York. The rabbitry is named after my two children, Joseph and Kerrie. We breed Mini Lops and now Polish exclusively!
I started raising rabbits back as a teenager in the late 1970s (just to give you an idea of my age). I raised Netherland Dwarfs, French Lops, and of course Mini Lops (they were just being introduced to the country at the time).
After a number of years of being out of the rabbit world, I decided to buy a pair of pet Mini Lops from a local breeder for the kids in 2001. This pair - Princess (a broken gold tipped steel doe) and Rex (a solid black buck) - led to the rabbitry we have today with many quality Mini Lops.
Raising rabbits has become a fun hobby for me with lots of new friends! Kerrie helps out at the shows, handles the feeding/care/cleaning of the rabbits while I'm at work and mainly handles the maintenence of this site. My son also helps out when he can on the weekends when I need cleaning help. I appreciate their help a lot, without it I would not be where I am today!
UPDATE!! Kerrie has joined the American Polish Rabbit Club! 1/15/2010 - The Polish have arrived! Check out the Polish pages for more info!
